Blue Quartzite Skull Carving - 880g

This skull is a great size, and I love the combination of materials and inclusions. This material is very commonly sold as 'Blue Caribbean Calcite', but it is however geologically quartzite, and it gets the blue colouring from copper and other associated minerals.

There is an area of what appears to be raw fluorite perhaps on the top of the skull and some pretty banding. If you hit this with a UV torch, there is a large area of blue-purple UV reaction.
