Labradorite Freeform Carving - 1489g

This freeform carving has some beautiful flash and favours the blue greens. The front face has a lovely green and gold boarded by blue and as you move towards the other side you get more darker blues and some gold. This piece really showcases the way Labradorite forms because you can see the growth layers from the side. 

Labradorite can be hard to carve and maintain the flash due to the nature of the material. the layers in the feldspar need the light to hit at the right angle and often times the growth of the layers means as the piece is carved flash is lost. I always try to buy the pieces with the best flash I can and will detail all areas as they can be hard to capture in photos.
