This material really is lovely, and I have a few tiny palms I will be setting into jewellery as witches windows. It is a relatively new material, being found in the last few years and it comes from deposits in the Caucasus Mountain region of Armenia. Study on this material reveals it has quite a few inclusions and mineral components including traces of potassium, silicon, aluminium, manganese, iron, titanium, calcium, rubidium, strontium, and zirconium.
This is also called 'Ice' Obsidian in some markets, as with all materials, there can be several names it is known as.
These palms are stunning and I am in love with the gorgeous banding! Hold them to the light and they glow.
