Volcanic Agate & Quartz Tower - 1102g

This gorgeous material is UV reactive and often trade named to Volcano Agate. It is worth noting that this material is actually Chalcedony with Banding and Quartz deposits. It really is a pretty material, and I love that it looks both stunning on its own and lights up to a glorious neon green under UV. It is the presence of uranyl ions that create that beautiful green reaction. 

This piece is big and solid, it makes a great book end, and the quartz formation meant I couldn't leave it behind. The UV on this piece is beautiful, providing a nice frame to the quartz.
