This skull is a great size, and I love the combination of materials and inclusions. This material is very commonly sold as 'Blue Caribbean Calcite', but it is however geologically quartzite, and it gets the blue colouring from copper and other associated minerals.
This piece has a beautiful big band of blue down the right-hand side with a natural crack running through the stone. Most of the bulb of the skull is blue and the matrix adds some nice interest.
