Aura Coated Brecciated Quartz Chalcedony Frog - 263g

This is very much one of my favourite pieces of this material, the aura coating is dark and has lots of teals and purples and it is a frog so, bonus points for that!

This material is commonly known on the market as Sphalerite but unfortunately that would be a miss-identification. It is actually a form of Brecciated Quartz and Chalcedony, often with a jasper matrix. It can also include other minerals such as calcite and fluorite depending on location. As the crystal formed its growth movements create pockets of druzy which characterises this as a lovely, sparkly kind of material. It is often aura coated but also looks lovely in raw form. Always makes a nice addition to any collection.
